I tried some of the tea that was still in the can from 1967. It made me slightly dizzy, and I laughed a lot.

Female Fiends - Big Screen Thrills

Any movie with Nora Swinburne in the cast is ok with me.

2 Minuttz UhPart

Please welcome this precious comic strip to circuswater.blogspot
2 Minuttz UhPart is possibly our most irritating publication. Many years back, we had a concession stand at convention of sorts. None of our publications sold well, especially 2 Minuttz UhPart. We started out with 10 copies and somehow ended up with 12 copies at the end of the show. Hard to read! Hard to look at! Badly drawn! Produced by imbeciles! - were just a few of the comments/reviews shouted at us. A couple years later we snuck the strip into another publication, THE SILENT FISH, which is the Number Four News Source in PIN HOOK County. We renamed the strip Shakes of Two, and never heard a discouraging word. Actually, we never heard an encouraging word either, but it just goes to show you that if you keep at it,  you'll probably end up right back where you started from. Or, if  you've reached our level of incompetence, you might end up with many boxes of complimentary shower caps, a one-way ticket to nowhere and an angry mob of  M.A.P.'s (Mothers Against Poetry) burning your books and spilling your coffee.
Chow for now,
Your highness, Abram Ovicci

Ovicci does Chicago

"I love your city and your american cigarettes!"
Publishing giant Abram Ovicci was spotted about town during his recent tour of Chicago, Illinois USA. We were told that Ovicci is the greatest publisher in the world and that only peasants don't recognize his genius. We believe him. After a quick visit to the Art Institute followed by a rather lengthy stop at Puss In Booths on south Wells, Ovicci bid farewell and rejoined his bus tour group for their final stop at the United Center to catch a matinee performance of Saving Private Ryan, on ice.

Fancy Feet - Movies we recommend

FANCY FEET
1949 SWABB & COMPANY
PRODUCERS: Gene Hawks, Ian Laundry
DIRECTOR: Emily Tee
SCREENWRITER: Barry Enna
A whimsical river boy sneaks into peoples homes in the wee hours and puts his feet inside their hats. In turn, and for unexplained reasons, when the owners wear their hats they dance without boundaries or self control. Even though the plot is weak and Larry Kane seems like he's on the wrong set, there are some excellent dance routines performed by vaudeville legends Hun and Sparrow.
With Larry Kane, Chappy Hun, Ruth Sparrow and Tin Cuffs.

"Like springtime in the everglades, but twice as fresh."
Theresa Farlough
Film critic for the Domebox Sun

Tin Cuffs moved on to a star in his most memorable roll as Gas Tooth in the 1966 film IRRESISTIBLE EARTH for Stove Top Films

Okay, this is absolutely the last cat reference for today. I'm going to do a couple shots of sterno, and take a nap.

Even though his work makes mine look like crap, I've decided to share some of the beautiful and odd illustrations of Norman P. Hall, with you. They come from a book titled "The Wonder Hill" by Albert Neely Hall. Yep, two talented brothers worked together to complete this excellent book which was published by Rand McNally & Company of Chicago, Illinois in 1914. I'll be randomly posting these fine illustrations under the title: From: The Wonder Hill. So hold on to your hats, stay tuned to circuswater.blogspot and get an eyeful of outstanding art work by Norman P. Hall.

It had grown dark by now, and all were surprised to see how beautiful the building looked at night.

It truly is good popcorn, but when you're in Hamburg, Illinois be careful if you walk in the sand.

Just for the Record - Elvis Presley

Even though it's 5 great tunes for $1.29, in the 50's that was a lot of money for a teenager to invest in a record. You could buy gas and cigarettes, and while those vapors and clouds are distant memories, the record is still here and plays fine.

Take note happy gamblers.

The Berkley Theater

The Berkley Theater - 2990 w. 12 Mile Road, Berkley Michigan, USA
In the days of yore, this was the movie house where my cousins and I saw dozens of great films. We went almost every saturday to the double feature matinees that, I think, cost 25 cents. I took this snapshot in 1997. The Theater is closed for movie viewing. It was opened in 1940. Check it out on the internet for better photos and a detailed history.

Yeah but, you should see the other guy.
Is it really a good idea to put the word TAR into the name of your cigarette brand? Oh well, if they taste good enough to fight for, they're okay by me.
