






Their contract with Parrot records was terminated in 1965 due to a "beer bust" scandal involving 1 can of un-opened, warm beer that was on the corner of the stage during a performance at the University of Minnesota. The entire band was jailed. Also, booking agents banned The Novas. A tough break for a young combo with a hit song that was on the BILLBOARD HOT 100 for three solid weeks.
Note: The cowpoke standing right of Clint, is (Shelby F. Wooley) Sheb Wooley. He was a tough cowboy and one of the gang after Gary Cooper in High Noon. He was also a comedian, a musician and singer. His big hit was Purple People Eater 1958. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 82. His characters name on Rawhide was Pete Nolan.
