Stoppin' the Rockin'

"Todays young, modern people are being influenced by music spawned from the Devil himself!"
"As these crazed teens foolishly dance their way to hell, they're being fueled with evil spirited food and drink served up by harlots from the shadows of hades!"
"The only way to stop the entwining decline of today's children is to burn the Devils instruments of destruction!"

I don't guess none of us really believed the old preacher, but the fire kept us warm that night.

Be an EXPERT!

Pezzi Chicki - The Slopes

Me with my jacket and without my skis.
Me with my skis and without my jacket.

Just a couple snap-shots we received from Pezzi Chicki, who is enjoying an extravagant holiday skiing the slopes of Spiderbone County.

Old West - Sketch Book

Well then, the first cartoon of the year is from my brand new sketch book that I received as a Christmas gift from Tucky Tuck and Miss Juniper. I was hoping to have a more cheerful entry to start out the New Year with, but the hand is quicker than the brain. I guess we should just all be happy that things like this never really happened and never will happen in the real world; where there's always a peaceful blend of perfect harmony with absolutely no fussin' or fightin'.
Peace, Love and Miss Understanding,

"Now who's gonna drive me to choir practice?" laments Little Turtle to no one in particular after learning that Medium Turtle and Big Turtle have taken the family car out for a joy ride.

Mamie Van Striker - skid row enthusiast

"The trouble now-a-days, is there's too much trouble now-a-days."
Mamie Van Stricker

Mamie Van Striker, founder of the Free Z. Glee Club, was a woman obsessed with joy and good cheer. Using only a metal folding chair and a bull whip, Ms. Van Striker often entertained her flock for hours on end. "It don't matter if you was president of General Motors or a blind vagrant, Ms. Mamie always have a kind word and a warm cup of Bee Tea waitin' fer youse" chirps Cherry Woodhead, a local street player and weekend alley roller. Although her home-made Bee Tea caused rashes and paralysis for many patrons, Mamie Van Striker will mostly be remembered for her feelgood attitude.

If only!

If only I had cashed this cheque:

I could've gotten my laundry out of hock.

I'd been able to hire a hired hand to hire the ambitious, wayward child of a hired hand to clear the weeds away from my shack lot.

I'd have eaten fine lunches for the month of August.

I wouldn't have had to resort to a series of felonious deeds with my knife wielding gun moll.

A disgruntled,

Ball Point Pen on Scrap Paper Cartoon

This really happened to me in 1973 when I was having a spot of lunch at Grubby's Diner on the Green Island turnpike just west of Domebox. It turned out to be misunderstanding due to a combination of poor penmanship and a flare tip pen used on damp paper.

MYSTERY BOX - HELLRAISER

1987
Clive Barker's - HELLRAISER
with Andy Robinson, Clare Higgins and Doug Bradley
I love this movie. HELLRAISER II is also a dewsey, but HELLRAISER III flails miserably. I hear there's a HELLRAISER remake in the works. I won't cast judgement, but I've seen very few remakes (other than Yentl II, III, IV and The Son Of Yentl) that stand up to the originals.
It's been years since I bought this nifty li'l HELLRAISER Mystery Box fun toy and I've yet to open it, not because I'm preserving its condition, but I'm actually a little afraid of what the outcome might be: Demon to some, Angel to others. A Demon might be fun, but I just couldn't manage a smarty-aleck Angel flitting around and constantly giving advice.
