circa 1973 - We were originally gonna form a Dino, Desi and Billy tribute band, but we couldn't find a 3rd band mate. Because both of us (Bobby Q pictured on the left and me Booby Lew pictured on the right) played drums we'd considered become a Desi tribute band. After a few rehearsals we decided to do our own, more original/independent, thing and became Bobby 'n Bobby. We played all our own compositions: Drums without Anger, Drums with Anger, Where's the Beat? and Drums, Drum, Drums - just to name a few. The bookings were coming in like wild fire thanks to our booking agent Hyman Cutlet. One night we might be performing at a Rod and Gun Club pizza party and a few weeks later in an out-of-state motel lobby. Hyman promised that after we established ourselves on the scene we'd actually be paid 19% of the money we earned for performing. Bobby Q and I had spent so much money on our drum kits and accessories that we didn't have the funds to buy a PA system, so most of our vocals were lost in the mix. Then, just on the threshold of stardom when we were booked to open for The Chocolate Watchband at the Genetic Playground in Chicago IL, Bobby Q decided to leave the music business and pursue a career in mathematics. I ended up doing the gig as a solo act, but was cut-off in the middle of my opening song - Drum and Drummer. Ya see, the Genetic Playground had a huge PA system and as it turned out, I had no talent what-so-ever as a vocalist. Well, time passed on and Bobby Q gave up his mathematics pursuit. He married Evelyn, his high school Sex Education instructor and moved to a town where even God can't find him. As for me, I eventually sold my drum kit and took a job in a music store selling drum kits.
